Community cops thank Camelon residents for help tackling drug crime

As a result of information from local people, the community team have carried out several raids on those believed to be involved in drugs within the last few weeks.
In Camelon, three people – two men and a woman -were reported after a small cannabis cultivation was recovered from a house in Fairlie Street.
The 30-year-old man, 37-year-old man and 30-year-old woman have all been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
Sergeant David Reid, of the Falkirk South Community Policing Team, said that local officers were pleased that they had managed to target so many people on the back of information coming in from the public.
He said: “With this we would not have had these successes.
“We still need the public to keep working with us and keep telling us who is dealing in their area.
“While the festive holidays are here we don’t take a break from tackling crime and need our communities to work with us.
“Without their information we can’t target those suspected of being involved in this criminality.”
In nearby Tamfourhill, two men, aged 39 and 25, have appeared in court in connection with drugs offences Drive after police received information from the public.
Over £3,000 worth of cocaine and cannabis and over £4,000 of money was discovered in the house in Kilbrennan Drive.
Sergeant Reid said: “This was a great recovery and this could not have happened without information coming in from the public.”
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man was arrested after over £300 worth of cannabis was recovered from a house in Calder Place, Hallglen; while in Laurieston, a 36-year-old man was caught in Keir Hardie Avenue in possession of drugs.
Sergeant Reid added: “We value the help we get from members of the public and this should provide reassurance that we do act on the information they provide.
Sometimes it takes a bit of time to get enough information to act on but we do take every bit of information seriously.”
